  • What Home Grown Means

When you see our AB, BC, or SK stickers in-store, you’ll know exactly where your food comes from. These labels highlight products that are locally grown produce & bulk items from trusted farmers in our region, locally owned businesses built right here in Canada, made in Canada products, where at least 51% of the total direct costs are incurred in Canada.

It’s a simple way to shop more consciously—choosing products that nourish not only your body, but also your community and the land we all share.

  • Why Local Matters

By supporting local growers and Canadian-owned businesses, we: Strengthen our regional food system and keep it resilient. Encourage sustainable practices like regenerative farming, crop rotation, and soil stewardship. Invest in our neighbours, helping family farms and small businesses thrive.

Today, over 68% of the products you’ll find on our shelves are Canadian owned and/or made here at home. From Alberta-raised meats and garden-fresh produce, to BC-grown apples and Saskatchewan’s hearty grains, our aisles are filled with the best that our local farmers and makers have to offer.

  • Look for the Stickers

To make shopping local simple, we’ve labelled over 15,000 products across all four Amaranth locations. Look for the “AB, BC, SK or Canadian Maple Leaf” stickers throughout our grocery shelves.

With every local choice you make, you’re helping build a more sustainable, resilient food community. When you choose Home Grown, you’re part of something bigger—supporting local farmers, protecting the land, and nourishing your family with real, organic food. Come discover the story behind your food & wellness products.

From the very beginning, Amaranth has been rooted in one simple belief: good food grows close to home. Our Home Grown program is our way of honouring that promise—by celebrating and supporting our Canadian local farmers, growers, and makers across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and beyond.
