A Day on the Farm: Our Galimax Chef Tour Experience

Every once in a while, something pulls you out of the day-to-day and reconnects you with the heart of what matters. For us, that was the Galimax Chef Tour—an annual farm-to-fork adventure that brings chefs, retailers, and local food advocates together for a full day of visiting the producers who feed our province.

We hopped on the bus alongside an inspiring group of chefs and food lovers, traveling across Southern Alberta to meet the farmers, producers, and families behind some of the freshest, cleanest, and most intentionally grown food you can find.

What Makes Galimax Special?

What makes the Galimax tour so special is its honesty. No fluff, no filters—just real people doing real work with care and commitment. We walked the fields, asked questions, tasted produce straight from the soil, and heard stories about the hard-earned values that guide each farm’s practices. Whether it was regenerative grazing, organic growing, or just the love that goes into small-batch production, every stop left us more grounded in the idea that good food begins with good relationships—to land, to people, and to purpose.

Takeaway’s

As a team, we returned with full bellies, muddy shoes, and renewed gratitude. These farm visits weren’t just educational—they were emotional reminders of why we choose to support local, why we source with intention, and why your food should feel as good as it tastes.

To Our Customers:

To our customers: when you pick up local produce, pasture-raised eggs, or handcrafted pantry staples at Amaranth, know that there are real hands and hearts behind them. We’ve met them. We’ve broken bread with them. And we’re proud to bring a piece of that connection to your table.

Thank you to Galimax and to all the Alberta producers who welcomed us so generously. We’re honoured to be part of this community of growers, makers, and nourishers.
