Pantry Staples, Rooted in Home Grown Values
Stocking your pantry is more than filling shelves — it’s an opportunity to support local farmers, Canadian makers, and the land we all share. At Amaranth, we believe good food grows close to home, which is why our pantry staples are thoughtfully sourced from trusted producers across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
When you see our AB, BC, or SK Home Grown stickers in store, you’ll know you’re choosing products that are locally grown, Canadian-owned, or made with at least 51% of their costs invested right here at home. Today, over 68% of our products are Canadian-owned and/or made, with many proudly produced in Alberta.
Every local choice helps strengthen our food system, support small family-run businesses, and build a more resilient, sustainable community. From everyday whole foods to pantry essentials you reach for again and again, choosing local means nourishing your body while investing in the future of our region — one thoughtful choice at a time.
As we head into March, Canadian seasonal produce shifts toward fresh fall harvest staples and early spring favourites. This month, you’ll still find hardy items like apples, beets, cabbage, carrots, onions, lettuce, mushrooms, and potatoes, while greenhouse-grown produce such as bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes is also available. These seasonal picks are great for soups, salads, roasts, and comfort meals as we transition from winter into spring.
