February’s new arrivals are here at Amaranth, featuring fresh additions across food, wellness, and self-care. From traditional tallow-based products and new gardening seeds to skincare, supplements, and protein powders, this month’s lineup is all about nourishing daily routines and seasonal preparation.
Northern Wildflowers
Founded in 2012 in Sudbury, Ontario, this Canadian seed company specializes in native wildflower, vegetable, and fruit seeds grown to thrive in northern climates while supporting pollinators and local ecosystems. Their seeds are ecologically grown, untreated, and chemical-free, including wildflower seeds that are grown on their farm and responsibly wild-collected. What began as a backyard experiment has grown into a national leader in Canadian-grown native seed, partnering with small organic farmers and wild seed collectors across the country. They donate at least 1% of annual sales to projects supporting food security, habitat restoration, and community greening.

• Hand Lotion – Formulated with people in mind who work in industries that require frequent hand washing, this hand cream helps keep hands soft, hydrated, and protected without feeling greasy.
Sasquatch Flats
Calgary-based company that creates traditional, small-batch tallow-based skincare using locally sourced Alberta tallow and beeswax, designed to nourish the skin deeply with ingredients your body recognizes. Handmade with simple, pronounceable ingredients, these balms use the skin as a delivery system to support whole-body wellness.
Available options:
• Tallow Magnesium Balm – A multi-purpose balm designed for use at bedtime or anytime the body needs support. Magnesium helps support muscles, nerves, circulation, and energy levels, while biocompatible tallow delivers nutrients through the skin. Can be used on sore muscles and joints, thin skin areas (forearms, backs of knees, underarms), and even as a natural deodorant. Not recommended for broken skin.
• Tallow Pearl Balm – A gentle, nourishing formula ideal for use on the face and around the eye area, helping support a smooth, healthy glow. Pearl provides naturally occurring minerals that complement tallow, while infused olive oil, beeswax, and essential oils support hydration and skin barrier health. Can also be used on the entire body.

Designed to nourish the skin while calming the nervous system, Divine Escape blends modern wellness with time-honoured botanical traditions.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Zohra and Mehdi, Tanit was created to merge modern personal care with a deep commitment to protecting the planet. Their products are made with natural, scientifically backed ingredients and packaged in 100% biodegradable, compostable cardboard, offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic deodorants. An interesting fact: Tanit’s deodorants are clinically proven to provide up to 48 hours of odour protection while remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin.

Is a 100% organic, Alberta-based brand with products handmade locally in Cochrane, AB, using seed oil–free, regenerative animal fats and clean, thoughtfully chosen actives. Their line spans both grocery and wellness, from beef tallow potato chips to nourishing tallow balms, soaps, and sun & bug products (Coming Soon)—crafted without synthetic fragrance, parabens, phthalates, or endocrine disruptors. An interesting fact: Gaia uses raw honey in many of their formulas for its natural ability to support skin renewal, hydration, and healing.
Gaia Organics Beef Tallow Potato Chips are Organic, and delivering a crisp, satisfying crunch with a slightly bolder salt profile. Made with 100% Canadian-sourced ingredients, including organic potatoes and Vancouver Island sea salt, these chips are produced in small batches using a thoughtful, traditional approach. We’ll be the only retailer in Calgary carrying Gaia Organics Beef Tallow Potato Chips.
Beefys Own Tallow Cooked Chips

What started as small-batch drops that sold out instantly grew into a dedicated production facility by 2023, allowing the brand to meet growing demand across the country. Today, Beefy’s Own focuses on seed-oil-free chips made with simple, high-quality ingredients and bold flavour.
Hola Mija Tallow Cooked Tortilla Chips
Inspired by traditional Aztec nixtamal techniques, this LA-based brand creates organic corn tortilla chips that honour centuries-old methods while delivering bold, authentic flavour. Their chips are fried in beef tallow, a staple in traditional Mexican cooking and finished with sea salt for a rich, satisfying crunch.

Tallow & Fries makes premium frozen fries cooked in beef tallow using simple, recognizable ingredients, bringing old-school cooking back into modern kitchens. The brand skips seed oils, gluten, and unnecessary additives, focusing instead on bold flavour and minimal processing.
